Do you ever look in the mirror and sigh in disbelief? You didn’t eat any unhealthy foods in the past seven days and did tricep dips until your arms felt like jello, but your upper arms are still flabby. At Paradise Med Spas of Texas in Lubbock, TX, we strongly believe that your appearance should reflect your hard work and dedication. Here’s what you need to know about lipo laser treatments.
Lipo Laser Treatments
Lipo laser treatments are an incredibly safe, effective alternative to better known fat removal treatments. The fat removal portion of treatment is just as effective as other methods available on the market. However, the benefits of treatment don’t just stop at fat removal. This method is FDA-approved to tighten the skin in the treated area.
Results
Results obtained from this treatment vary on a case-by-case basis. The most common factor affecting the results of treatment is the size of the area you are treating. On average, lipo laser treatments result in a 24% reduction in localized fat cells. However, if you are treating a smaller area, like your chin, underarms, or the backs of your knees, you may see an 80% reduction.
How Many Treatments You Will Need
During your initial consultation, we will review your current body fat distribution and desired aesthetic to identify how many treatment sessions you can expect to need. On average, most of our clients require only two or three sessions. There are several factors that affect how many sessions you will need. These include the number and size of the areas you’re treating.
For instance, you may have six areas you’re trying to treat, but if you only have two hours for treatment, you will be able to treat four areas on one day and two areas on a different day. Alternatively, you may be looking to reduce 40% to 45% of your localized fat cells. This will require two treatment sessions, as well.
How Treatment Works
This treatment works by heating localized fat cells to the point of death and liquefaction. The laser heats up your localized fat cells over the course of four minutes. Once it has reached the optimal temperature, there is a steady-state warmth that lasts for 21 minutes. At the end of 25 minutes, your fat cells are dead and liquefied.
After treatment is over, your lymphatic system gets to work. Your liquefied fat cells travel through your lymphatic system much faster than frozen fat cells would. Therefore, you can expect to see results much faster than if you received a cryolipolysis-based fat removal treatment. Once the fat cells have finished their journey, they are eliminated by your body as waste.
What to Expect During Treatment
During treatment, you can expect neither pain nor discomfort. If you’d like, we are more than happy to apply a topical anesthetic cream or gel to numb the treatment area before your session begins. This ensures you won’t feel anything during treatment. This is common when treatment is performed on areas with thin skin, such as the chest or inner thighs.
However, most of the time, there is no need for a topical anesthetic. The laser warms the foundational layers of your skin and feels like a relaxing hot stone massage. In fact, treatment is so comfortable that our clients often take a nap or read a book during their session.
When to Expect Results
Because the fat cells are liquefied during treatment, you can expect to notice an immediate reduction in volume. However, these are by no means your final results. After two weeks, the deoxycholic acid in your gut has processed the first of your dead fat cells. At this point, you will notice a significant reduction in the circumference of the treated area.
The good news doesn’t end there. In a mere six to eight weeks after treatment, you will see the final results of treatment. This is in stark contrast to alternative fat removal treatments that can take eight to 24 weeks to reveal the results of treatment.
Good Candidates for This Treatment
There are several factors that determine who is a good candidate for treatment. The only way to determine if you are a good candidate for this treatment is to come in for an initial consultation. During your initial consultation, we will review your medical history, and current health, as well as your current aesthetic and aesthetic goals.
If you suffer from a blood disease, you will need to avoid any medication or supplement that can thin your blood in the three days leading up to your treatment. You must not have a sunburn, active infection, or other skin issues affecting your targeted site on the day of your treatment. We will review, among other things, the circumference of your targeted area.
